What is a Positive Pressure Tube Ventilation System?
A Positive Pressure Tube Ventilation System (PPTS), often referred to as tube ventilation, is a custom-designed solution for livestock buildings such as calf sheds and dairy housing. Fresh air is pushed into a tube, which is suspended from a catenary wire and distributes air evenly through precision-cut outlets along its length.
By continuously supplying fresher air and diluting moisture, stale air, and airborne pathogens, PPTS systems help create a healthier environment and improve livestock welfare.
Over 250 Tube Systems Supplied Across the UK
We’ve designed and supplied more than 250 positive pressure tube ventilation systems within the last 2 years to farms across the UK, helping improve livestock health and reduce long-term operating costs.

Tube Ventilation Designs
Members of the EG Agri team completed the Dairy Land Initiative Workshop on mature cow heat stress, to bring proven expertise from the US to UK farms.
These systems are highly regarded across the US and beyond for managing heat stress in dairy cows and are often requested here in the UK.
FAQs
Our tube systems are powered by an Elta HXP fan, which pushes fresh air into the building and through the tube. Air exits through carefully positioned outlets to ensure even distribution. Systems can also be paired with an HP58 controller, which automatically adjusts airflow based on temperature, helping optimise comfort and reduce energy consumption.
Tube systems are most commonly installed in dairy farms, including calf and cow housing, but they can also be suitable for equine facilities. We also offer alternative ventilation solutions for poultry units, grain stores, and other agricultural buildings.
Natural ventilation depends on weather conditions such as wind and temperature, which can make airflow inconsistent. During still, cold, or humid conditions, ventilation levels are often insufficient.
A Positive Pressure Tube System provides a controlled and consistent supply of fresh air regardless of external conditions. Air is evenly distributed along the building and introduced above animal height, helping reduce humidity, limit draughts, and lower the risk of respiratory illness such as pneumonia.
